Los Clientes Troyanos: Un Desafío para el Comercio del Siglo 21. Los clientes del siglo 21 son altamente educados e informados. Al entrar en una tienda local, ocultan su verdadera intención de no comprar en la tienda. Yo los he nombrado “Clientes de Troya”.
El Caballo de Troya
El Caballo de Troya existió en una famosa guerra entre los griegos y la ciudad de Troya. Después de 10 años de conflicto, los griegos construyeron un enorme caballo de madera. Dentro, se escondió una fuerza selecta de hombres. Los griegos pretendían abandonar la zona dejando atrás el caballo. Los troyanos llevaron el caballo a la ciudad de Troya como un trofeo de victoria. Esa noche, los soldados griegos salieron del caballo y abrieron las puertas de la ciudad. El ejército griego entró en la ciudad, la destruyó y puso fin a la guerra.
La Visita
Al igual que el Caballo de Troya, el cliente entra en un establecimiento con su agenda escondida. El cliente troyano tiene la intención de no comprar. Sin embargo, viene dispuesto a utilizar todos los recursos gratis de ese establecimiento. Toca la mercancía y hace todas las preguntas para satisfacer sus necesidades.
La Misión
Cuando el vendedor menos se lo espera, el cliente troyano saca su teléfono inteligente. Hace un escáner del código de barras del producto con una aplicación llamada Price Check de Amazon.com. Aquí es cuando el cliente troyano confirma que puede conseguir el mismo artículo más barato en Internet.
La Salida
La estrategia de salida varía según el personaje. Algunos clientes troyanos actúan con mucha educación y cuidado. Este grupo toma el tiempo de dar las gracias al vendedor por toda la ayuda. Otro grupo es menos sofisticado. Este grupo añade un paso adicional al proceso como si fuera un insulto añadido: usan el baño del establecimiento antes de su “salida triunfal”. Es como si quisieran marcar el territorio.
Los Clientes Troyanos Solo Compran Online
El último paso del proceso troyano es llegar a una computadora y comprar el producto en Internet. Después de haber usado todos los recursos gratis de la tienda local, compran el artículo un poco más barato en línea.
Los Clientes Troyanos Actúan Asi
Pasos del cliente de Troya del siglo 21:
- Satisfacer todas las preguntas en la tienda local.
- Probar y preguntar todo sobre el artículo en la tienda local.
- Hacer un escáner del código de barras del producto con Price Check.
- Comparar el precio local con los precios en Internet.
- Salir de la tienda local sin gastar un centavo.
- Comprar el artículo en Internet un poco más barato.
Clientes Troyanos y su Impacto en el Comercio
Esta es la razón por la cual a Best Buy se le ha llamado la sala de exposiciones o el showroom de Amazon.com. El flujo de clientes de Troya ha aumentado alarmantemente en los últimos meses. Esto ha llevado a Best Buy a cerrar algunas de sus tiendas y a la salida abrupta de su CEO. La aplicación de Amazon llamada Price Check ha cambiado las reglas de comercialización. El nuevo cliente de Troya ha costado millones de dólares al mercado minorista. Todo comienza con Best Buy y sigue con las medianas y pequeñas empresas.
